Lisa and Derek's travels

Well we made it to NZ ...

it has only taken us ... well I don't know how long it's taken us but it seems like we've been living out of bags for ages now. But, we got to NZ, managed to survive the bio-hazard check at customs, not sure how some of my gear got through that one, and we are now in sunny Wellington.

We're staying at Lisa's Mum's until we can find a place to live - with any luck we'll be able to let you know our new address in a few days (B&B will be at a competitive rate).

They sunk the F69 battleship last Sunday, so we're hoping to go for a dive on it this weekend. If we suceed you can be assured of some great photos. Lisa hasn't managed to get in the water yet, she is using the excuse of not having a wetsuit, I mean how pathetic can you be, it's a balmy 14C out there at the moment. See more on the scuttling at http://www.divewreck.co.nz/F69/Home.php

Things not to do in life #23342: Don't be Irish in New Zealand when they All Blacks give us a mauling.

As Lisa is working (and Derek is finding work, ahem!), we don't have too many photos, however in a new series of adventures that I'm tentatively calling, "Lord of the Rings locations we almost saw", we did visit Kaitoke Regional Park - the location for the Rivendell in LOTR - we managed to not take any photos of the setting, instead we took some of a rope bridge and a gorge! So without further ado, here they are ....

  • Dreaming of 14degs - feels like it's about 9 here now - only it can't be, because the Gulf Stream keeps our water warm - right? right? Typical that you sent Lisa out to work first - what are you making her do?
