Happy 2007!!!

A gem nudibranch

ok, ok I know we've been quiet of late and I know it's February, no excuses we've just been c**p.

But anyway, we're back and we're been busy ;o)

Just had a 3 day live-aboard up at the Poor Knights. The same Poor Knights that for years I mumbled into my beer about being over-rated and not worth the effort. I take it all back. The diving there is simply FANTASTIC.

Looking back towards the entrance of Matt's Crack (as dubious a dive site name as you can get!)

We were diving with Jan an Kevin on board Mazurka (I think I spelt that right), out of Tutukaka in the North of the North Island.

We got to dive Northern Arch, Blue Mao Mao Arch, Magic Wall and Tie Dye Arch amongst others. Every dive was a nudibranch fest, and Lisa got some fantastic shots. Tie Dye Arch brought back memories of diving in the Red Sea, banging current through the arch, big shoals of fish and amazing colours on the walls - the thermocline at 25M and the huge crayfish were more of a NZ feature!

We also got to dive on the Waikato, a ship that was sunk some four years ago as a natural reef. Amazing blue and red polyps all over the wreck and one of those wreck dives that you'd happily go back to time and again.

Will try to update more regularly in future, honest. And as the title says, have a happy 2007.
