She decides to give this tramping a try ....

You see we do actually do things together out of the water (like our gaiters?)

Lisa shows how to walk on water

honest, I didn't force herself to come along she came of her own volition. We went on a three day tramping trip around Lake Rotoiti in the north of the South Island and part of the Nelson Lakes National Park - have a look at the satelite photo

What can I say, she ended up sleeping in a picnic shelter on the Friday night, walking in the rain on Saturday (and Sunday and a bit of Monday), climbing up to Bushline hut at 1200m after 6 hours of walking. What can I say, I'm sure she'll be gagging to go on the next walk ;o)

The hut before it started raining

Whisky Falls (they found a still here a few years ago, how the hell they got the whisky out from here is a complete mystery to me)
Not a drop of whisky to be seen (hence the face)

Camera on a bad setting, but the view from the Bushline hut down to the lake.

Jaysus, the pub is how far?

Don't try this one at home ...

Very cool octopus that hung around for a photo

honest Mum I didn't mean to jump off a 10M high rock edge, it just sorta happened - you can already see the credit rolling on another episode of Casualty. But I managed to survive, but whether wearing a drysuit for this sort of jump is a good idea is yet up for consideration.

Ah bugger, when will NZ run out of Extreme Sports??? (I swear that's not me, that's my stunt double)

Anyway, we've been out diving again. The water temp is a balmy 12C, but we got offered a chance to dive at Thoms - West of Wellington - and a spot famed for its abundance of crayfish. It didn't disappoint. Even I managed to catch a cray - a female in berry but then you can't have everything :o( - that means she was carrying eggs and so couldn't be taken.

Had two great dives and as a surface interval, we went for a jump off Karori Lighthouse - strange how these things are always a great idea for Lisa, however, she had to stay on the boat to take photos!!! Next week someone is going to tell me that there's a great short cut to the beach just over this cliff, hang on a minute, I've already done that, eh, Mazzie?

Congrats to Marion and Dave on their amazing running ability and not to mention their money raising ability. I was thinking of their every blister as I raised my glass of Merlot ;o) More power to you guys.

Happy birthday to Ms. Rooney - I've heard no sordid tales of drink and debauchery so can only assume that you managed to keep this birthday out of the papers!
